Ancient but Relevant Words on How to live.

1 Timothy 6

All who are under the yoke of slavery should consider their masters worthy of full respect, so that God’s name and our teaching may not be slandered. Those who have believing masters should not show them disrespect just because they are fellow believers. Instead, they should serve them even better because their masters are dear to them as fellow believers and are devoted to the welfare[a] of their slaves.

False Teachers and the Love of Money

These are the things you are to teach and insist on.  If anyone teaches otherwise and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching,  they are conceited and understand nothing. They have an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions  and constant friction between people of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain.

But godliness with contentment is great gain.  For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.  But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.  Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.  For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

Why say, "Be Dangerous"

The idea is for people to think clearly and stand up for what you believe. It’s not necessarily only being dangerous against evil, it’s dangerous against wasting time, not taking care of your mind, body, spirit, money etc.

it’s dangerous against faulty beliefs, false perceptions and things that are not true.

Not necessarily “evil” although that is definitely a piece of it. My father disciplined me as a boy when I was missing the mark and I could have been better. It wasn’t simply when I broke the rules (ie evil)

Dangerous against foolishness and sloth etc.

What Do You Believe About Your Story?

At 54 years old, I still say, “I am about 10 years from my prime.” I have been saying that line for over 30 years. At 23 I was taken hostage at gunpoint. At 25 I was married. At 26, I became a father. At 33, I started my own business. At 41, I went through a bankruptcy. At 46, a divorce.
Now, at age 54, I still believe the main part of my story has yet to be written.

What you believe about your story will determine how you act moving forward. If you think your story has already been written and you are “sliding into home plate,” well, you will act that way.

You are created in His image

The ideas and words you speak have value.

I was reading my Bible one morning and came across this verse:

“And the Word became flesh. . . . .”
John 1:14

20 Warnings in Washington’s Farewell Address

Our founding fathers fought a bloody revolutionary war to give us the opportunity to live free. They had first hand knowledge of the tyranny and slavery set up by the King of England.

In fact, the King referred to Americans as "His subject" or in other words slaves.

It is wise to heed the words of our first President and the commander who led our troops to victory over tyranny. Also, remember Ben Franklin's response when asked what form of government we created. His reply, "A Republic. If you can keep it." Ronald Reagan said "Freedom is never more than one generation from extinction"

Good, strong and dangerous men and women are needed more than ever to protect and defend all that is good and right in the world.

Action

"I prayed for twenty years but received no answer until I prayed with my legs." [Abolitionist, author, and runaway slave Frederick Douglass on taking action.]

True belief is proven with action. It seems to me, that most hide behind laziness, cowardice or both. What you believe, you will do. Whether you believe it or not, you are the writer, director and actor in your own movie. Move to center stage and take action today!
