Post Nut clarity or emotional entrapment?

The sex drive is very strong in humans. Both men and women experience the desire to fulfill sexual release. To be sure, there are differences between men and women in their approach and path to fulfillment, but nonetheless, both desire to have that need fulfilled.

However, for this paper, I will address the affects on the man after he engages in sex with a woman.

There are at least two schools of thought on this phenomenon. The first is what is commonly called "post nut clarity." This is the clarity of thinking that occurs after the intense sexual desire is satisfied. Prior to orgasm, a man is intensely focused on fulfilling that sexual release. He will woo, coax, entertain and say or do just about anything to convince or romance a woman to get naked with him.

After she agrees and the "deed is done" he experiences a rush of emotional and mental clarity due to that sexual domination in his brain being satisfied and he now has the ability to actual think about something other than sex, at least for awhile. This sense of clear headedness or clarity is what is meant by "post nut clarity."

Common experiences of this phenomenon can result in regret when he looks at the woman he is with and is not only disgusted by his actions, but regrets what he said in order to fulfill his sexual desire with her. In this clarity of thinking, 'post nut', he experiences remorse both for what he did and said to convince her to sleep with him.

The song, "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" by Meatloaf puts this idea to song in his lyrics. She demands to know, "will you love me, will you love me forever?" prior to them "doing the deed."

She is "holding out" for a commitment before allowing her body to be given to him. His reply, "let me sleep on it" is his attempt to forgo the commitment and get right down to business. She holds firm, and eventually, he acquiesces and makes the commitment by saying,

"I couldn't take it any longer,
Lord I was crazed,
and when the feeling came upon me like a tidal wave,
started swearing to my god and on my mother's grave,
that I would love you to the end of time.
I swore I would love you to the end of time!"

Then, afterwards, 'post nut clarity' sinks in almost immediately when he says,

"So, now I'm praying for the end of time,
to hurry up and arrive,
'cause if I gotta spend another minute with you,
I don't think that I can really survive."

That, is 'post nut clarity.' Watch the music video here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C11MzbEcHlw asdf
